In the mid nineteenth Century there was an influx of workers and their families into Hamilton due to the increasing numbers of coalmines being established around the town. The Parish Church of Hamilton had to provide additional churches to accommodate the numbers wishing to attend worship. One of them, Cadzow, opened in 1877. It is of gothic design. Halls were added in 1925, 1939 and 1961.

We believe that we have a beautiful church and, as can be seen in the photograph, our members are happy to get involved in keeping it that way! We are very concerned with the environment and, having passed a first assessment can now claim to be an ECO Church working towards the second assessment.

A happy gardening party Sunday Worship is at 10.45am (September - May) and 9.30am and 10.40 am (June - August). Morning coffee is served in the church halls before the 10.45am services. Holy Communion is celebrated quarterly and the Common Cup is used at every celebration. For our worship praise we generally use the CH4 Hymnary although for our more informal Services, held at 9.30am, we use "Songs of God's People" and our own "Cadzow Praise". Music plays a vital role in our worship. We have a fine choir and an outstanding church organist. Our superb manual pipe organ made by Foster and Andrews has recently been completely restored.

Youth work is of major importance to us and we are closely involved with Hyzone Youth Project. To reach out to the youth of Hamilton, this project, initiated and supported by the Five Centre of Hamilton Churches, employs a full-time and 2 part-time youth workers.
